Brilliant.
And my dad said “Wow, [the queer community has] so many labels, don’t you.”
Me: “Cisgender, heterosexual, white, able-bodied, neurotypical, male. These are your labels. You just don’t notice them in the same way you notice ours, because yours are assumed. It goes…
“Since domestic abuse accounts for nearly 1/3 of all female homicides, and murder is the leading cause of death for pregnant women in this country… I’m afraid ‘sit there and take it until your husband decides to stop being a horrible human being because if you don’t you gave up on your…
Considering that domestic abuse is cyclical and it’s almost impossibly hard to break that cycle, this guy’s old school mother should have read her bible, prayed for deliverance, and gotten herself and her children to a halfway house the first chance she had.
Had the women in my family elected to stay with the abusive alcoholics who married them, they’d be dead. Actually dead. The abuse brought them close enough to death in the short years they tried to “make it work”. Stick around and hope the spirit in the sky magically changes an asshole to a decent human being? No. Get out. If he changes (or she - let us not be sexist) and gets help and can PROVE he’s changed, let him come hat in hand to the victim of his rages. She should NEVER stick around risking her life because he likes to drink and doesn’t like his life.
Therefore, this guy needs to shut it. Now.
This post isn’t really a case of overshare, nor is it a Mom’s Gold Star…but it fits the concept of Fright Fest to a T. I’m not condoning or condemning the fact that the picture you’re about to see exists on Facebook; no, instead I just wanted to share it with you guys because it’s freaking CRAZY. And it scared me.
But since the submission came to me chopped into two screen caps, I thought I’d share it with you the way I wound up seeing it myself - by reading the comments first and then seeing the accompanying image. Consider it my version of a “tease and reveal” (and yes, the text is small and cannot be enlarged and for that, I am sorry):
After reading all of that, I was like, “Wow, this is a whole lot of talk all for what is sure to be a lame payoff. “Stephen King movie”? “I will never sleep again.”? The more I read, the more I was convinced that the photo couldn’t possibly measure up to the horror-filled chatter in this thread. But oh, was I wrong.
